2025 Term 1 Focus Areas  -  Striking and Fielding Sports

(Cricket and Tee-Ball/Softball)

  • The following skills will be covered 

  • Hitting the ball  (Teeball/Softball focus)

  • Placing the ball

  • Running between wickets/ bases

  • Throwing and catching (with and without a mit)

  • Bowling 

  • Last year in the cricket unit, batting was the focus and this will be revised (Straight Drive, Pull Shot, Cut Shot). Bowling will be the major focus in 2025.

  • Basic bowling fundamentals

  • Swing bowling 

  • Spin Bowling

Term 4 2024  Focus Area  -  Invasion game skills

The following skills will be taught, focusing on Volleyball, Basketball and European Handball. However, the concepts taught will assist students in numerous sports where the aim is  to invade an opponent's territory and score a goal or point (i.e. soccer, netball, rugby league, Hockey, Lacrosse)

  • Teamwork Skills

  • Holding possession

  • Creating and moving into space

  • Supporting the ball carrier

  • Positioning

  • Controlling the pace

  • Attacking and Defending

  • Applying pressure

 

Students will also be learning specific game skills for:
